Today I clinched my first tennis championship ever by beating Michael Steppat and then Daniel Martin in the Memorial Park Junior Satellite Tournament. I took down Steppat 6-1, 6-0 in the semifinals after he beat Andrew Jacobberger (the consolation bracket winner) in the pigtail match. The first set in today's match was one of the craziest I've played. My serve was broken in the first game, then I broke his in the second and held my own in the third. I led 2-1 at the changeover, but that was the last time in that set that anyone held serve. Things got a little tense when I was up 5-4, but down 40-15. I came back to win the next two points and the game, which gave me the set. I won the second set, 6-1, and the only game he won was the second-to-last. He rescued three match points and a set point, but I still triumphed. Many people go through their lives without being a champion in anything, and I won one today. Tomorrow I have what should be an easy match at Kissing Camels, then I'm leaving for Salt Lake City. Duck out.
